COLUMBIA, Maryland. (March 4, 2010) The U.S. Dream Academy, Inc. has been recognized as a "Four Star Charity" by leading nonprofit evaluator Charity Navigator, earning its’ highest rating for charities.

"We are honored to receive Charity Navigator‘s top rating for fiscal responsibility," said Wintley Phipps, U.S. Dream Academy’s Founder and CEO. "We work hard to ensure our donations support our high quality program delivery; and we are pleased to be recognized by Charity Navigator for our fiscal responsibility. This is an affirmation to be shared with our current and future supporters," said Phipps.

According to its Web site, Charity Navigator (www.charitynavigator.org) is the largest charity evaluator in America. The organization guides intelligent giving by evaluating the financial health of over 5,000 charities. Charity Navigator is a 501(c)(3) organization which accepts no advertising or donations from the organizations it evaluates, ensuring unbiased results.

Charity Navigator's rating system is based on an evaluation of an organization's financial health, efficiency, and capacity in comparison with the performances of similar charities. According to the organization, a four-star rating indicates that a charity's organizational efficiency and organizational capacity "exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in its cause."

U.S. Dream Academy receives both public and private contributions.  “As with everyone else, the U.S. Dream Academy is stretched by challenging economic times. It is important as we try to do more with less that our current and future supporters know our program is effective and efficient" said Phipps, who is also a Grammy-Nominated Gospel Artist.  U.S. Dream Academy is one of 36 charities in Maryland that received a Four Star rating.
