Dream Academy News | D.C. DreamKid Wins Annual Christmas Card Competition

Monday December 20, 2010

Each year, DreamKids from around the country participate in the Christmas card competition.  The winner has his/her drawing made into a card and sent to all of our Dream Academy donors, partners, and friends. This year's theme for the competition was "A Christmas Thanks".

This year's winner is Rajean, a 12 year old from the Ferebee Hope Learning Center in Washington D.C.  Rajean lives in D.C. with her mom and older sister.  Her favorite color is purple and when she grows up, Rajean wants to be a math teacher and help kids with hard math problems to carry forward what the Dream Academy has done for her.  "I like coming to the Dream Academy because they help me to dream", says Rajean.  "I get to use the computers and I love 'Fun Friday'"!

Although there can only be one winner, many talented and artistic students submitted entries.  The Christmas Card, in addition to conveying thanks, also reminds supporters that we cannot continue the vital work we do without their help.  If you would like to contribute to the Dream Academy with a tax-deductible gift before the end of the fiscal year, please visit our donation page here.

From the Dream Academy family to your family, Happy Holidays and may your New Year be filled with health and happiness.
