Mandarin Oriental Hotel, Washington, D.C.

The U.S. Dream Academy’s Gala is a black-tie fundraising and awareness dinner to benefit children who have a parent incarcerated and children who are falling behind in school. More than 500 of our country’s most influential and respected political, business, philanthropic, entertainment, media and social leaders gather each year to celebrate advances in our work—and to rally around the growing movement of helping young people become better learners.

To date, the gala has raised $10 million to address this rapidly growing education crisis. The U.S. Dream Academy is no ordinary afterschool program. The Dream Academy combines academic fundamentals and achievement with active learning opportunities that engage children and link them to the power of their dreams.

Former Redskins player and NFL Hall of Famer Darrell Green and Jewell Green are the 2011 co-hosts, along with Miss America Outstanding Teen Chair Donna Bozarth. Special performances by Patti LaBelle and Committed.
