Dream Cities
The U.S. Dream Academy currently operates Learning Centers in 10 communities nationwide with high incarceration and poverty rates. In 2008, our afterschool and mentoring program helped 1,060 young people move closer to realizing their dreams.
These Dream Academy Learning Centers know that young people growing up with a parent or relative in prison often forget how to dream. They are very likely to end up in prison, too, at a terrible cost to themselves, their families, and their communities. Breaking this cycle is important to the very fabric of America.
Here are current Learning Centers, many established through significant partnerships:

- Ferebee-Hope Elementary School, Washington, DC
Opened in 2001 in partnership with the Child and Families Services Agency - Childs Elementary School, Philadelphia, PA
Opened in 2002 in partnership with the Tasker Street Missionary Baptist Church - Collington Square School, Baltimore, MD
Opened in 2002 in partnership with the International Medalist Association - Foster Elementary School, Houston, TX
Opened in 2002 in partnership with the City of Houston, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee, and Texas State Senator Rodney Ellis - Dionne Warwick Institute, East Orange, NJ
Opened in 2002 in partnership with the East Orange School District, following earlier programs in East Orange and Newark, NJ - Dual Immersion Academy, Salt Lake City, UT
Opened in 2005 in partnership with the Department of Education (FIE funding) - Memorial Middle School, Orlando, FL
Opened in 2005, following an earlier program in Coleman, FL - Edwin Markham Middle School, Los Angeles, CA
Opened in 2007 in partnership with OJJDP, U.S. Attorney's Office, and Los Angeles Unified School District - John Marshall Community School, Indianapolis, IN
Opened in 2008 in partnership with the Indy Dream Team comprised of local business, non-profits, and state government leaders. - Alcy Elementary School, Memphis, TN
Opened in 2008, following two year citywide mentoring program
